Bag: No Name

The holiday season is synonymous with one thing... sparkles. Well, To be specific, metallics and sequins. Every year for New Years Eve I choose a tone for accessories and such and I typically go for silver. This year I had additional options with the annoying rise in popularity of rose gold.. stop trying to make fetch happen.

What was I talking about? Oh yeah (haha I really could not stand myself writing that. OF COURSE I remember what I was talking about it's two sentence above this one). Anyways, this year I went with gold. Until I saw this bag at a random boutique I hadn't made up my mind.

I'm insanely in love with this thing. I initially put in the hallway to photograph it and it's still there. I think my house is slowing turning in a permanent Coveteur set up. No complaints.

With 3 weeks til the big countdown on the hunt for matching strappy heels. I have no plans at the moment but i'v been made commissioner of fun for myself and my friends. So, I got some work to do in order to show this baby off!

I know a few posts back I talked about how pink was not a part of my wardrobe and this romper may have changed that. When Atlanta based owner of Funky Flair Boutique contacted me about picking my own piece from the store I was excited. There was much to choose from but everything was unique. This romper caught my eye with it's front facing zipper and billowly slits on the back.

I can tell you that this piece is very light wieght and silky soft. One thing I look for in jumpsuits is breathability (if thats even a word) and opaqueness. I mean if its all-in-one I want to be as comfortable as possible. This piece has both and I happy to welcome it into my closet. Maybe more pink will follow.

Let me start by saying there is nothing misfortunate about this jacket! I am absolutely smitten with this bomber and apparently several passerbys and store clerks were too.

I received this little gem in the mail after Sammy Dress contacted a few weeks ago. I've had the pleasure of browsing their site prior so I was excited that someone there had found the blog. I went through tons of items -- Sammy Dress is a online store with thousands of items for insanely good prices -- and finally decided on this amazing sequined bomber.

When it got to my doorstep I immediately tried it on and fell in love! You would think something with this much embellishment would weigh you down but this bomber does just the opposite. It's light weight yet it holds all the structure.. The inside of it is comfortable as well. I don't know what's on the inside but it makes wearing it itch and chaff free.

This will definitely come in handy this spring. I have so many ideas for styling it for upcoming post. Definitely stay tuned for more of this bomber and check out Sammy Dress for cool pieces!

It's only March but I think I've found my uniform for summer. I was leaving the house today and these jeans stood out to me. They remind of a pair of ragged jeans I had in the 5th grade. It took me a long time to get the ends ripped and frayed just right and I loved them. They didn't last long though because my mom threw them away and replaced them with a new pair. I can't even begin to tell you how mad I was. Luckily for both of us, that was probably the biggest tantrum I had as a preteen.

So until summer comes I think I'll be wearing my jeans out and toning up my stomach. But ya know LA is always warm so I don't have much time!

So the last post I hinted to the fact I purchased some of the items in the collage. Well these beauties arrived this past week and I am in LOVE. I really wanted a pair of mules and almost purchased a black pair. But in the end it sounded best to get something outside of black - seeing as I own every type of shoe in that color. I also figured white is perfection for the spring time. Plus, how badass is the gold tip on the open toe?

Lately I've been the busy person that ever was. I've started school and an internship, add in the early sunset due to daylight savings, I never have time to shoot my outfits. Trust me, I've been dressing up everyday for the past few week. You should definitely follow me on Instagram because thats where I always seem to snap a bit of my outfit (mirror or FWIS style).

BUT! I've taken a que from my blogger friend Amber, who seems to shoot her looks no matter what. Amber inspired me to snap these in the parking structure after my internship. She's always shooting at night (which I've been dying to do) and is no stranger to parking structures. Definitely check her out. She's a babe and has awesome style.

Any who, these pieces (the hat, coat and boots) have been my personal favorites all month. Be prepared to see a lot of these worked into my looks for a while.

The only reason this is considered top of the morning is because I've scheduled it to be so. If I posted my morning it would be in the middle of the afternoon. But I wanted to give you a glimpse of my morning and talk about two of my resolutions.

This mug of oatmeal is a representation of my diet plans for the year 2k14. I picked up a big container of old fashion oats in order to replace the sugar packed instant version. The first day I tried them was actually a hot mess. I went by the stove top instruction and it was not good. The oats didn't cook all the way so I tried heating up water like they do at Starbucks -- NO. It eventually came out right and I enjoyed this serving sooooo much. I know I've got to try out so many new things this year that wont be too tasty at first but I've got to keep at it.

The new layout is also a part of the new year. First off, I hope you guys like the new Roses are Red homepage. I've decided to incorporate the Roses part of the blog. I didn't want something cheesy or boring. I came across this print and thought "This is pretty trippy," which meant it was a perfect fit. Also my social network links on the side match the header so feel free to give them a click. But the layout is a representation to do more, try something different, and evolve the blog so you guys enjoy it more.

Here are the pieces I sneak peaked earlier this week. Let me just tell you... these pieces have halted my need to shop. For a while now I had a feeling that I needed to stock up for the fall. But after just getting the pieces that I knew would be staples/must haves I'm totally satisfied.

I'm not sure if this is a result of getting older or I really just needed these key pieces. Whatever it is, I don't hate it.

So the past week I have been obsessed with the idea of thrifting. And because my schedule for the past week has been too busy for me to actually get to a store -- despite there being two locations on my way home -- I haven't gotten around to it. WELLLLLL yesterday I actually had the chance to make my way to one and I picked up four items. Two of them being pieces I have been meaning to add to my closet.

Happy Sunday guys,

I'm currently typing this from the comfort of my bed after a looooong day of event hopping and fashion shows. I spent the early part of my Saturday attending a eye wear launch event for fellow Youtuber Sophia Chang. And the rest and the majority of the day at Los Angeles Concept taking in Spring/Summer shows for fashion week. (more on LAFW tomorrow). I managed to snap these pictures on route from the launch party to the other side of West Hollywood to the shows.

The skirt I'm wearing was a random acquiring during my house shopping haze. The ruching on the right side of the skirt is a nice take on a slit. Which is complimented with the perfect asymmetrical lower back. The fabric is extremely soft and glides across the legs in a way that can make you blush with the right slight of a breeze.

It's definitely got a dark Grecian vibe that I'm definitely here for. And because LA affords me the luxury of always sunny weather I plan on playing with this with some sweater throughout the upcoming seasons.

Yes, so since moving into my new place I've fallen into this tradition of coming home from work on Friday and climbing into my full sized bed and not moving for hours. There is a level of comfort that comes from the all white scenery of my plush comforters. And to quote every 14 year old girl; I know its only been two weeks, but I know this is the real.

These are my Fridays. Especially since I'm now located further from campus and my friends. But you know what? I'm okay with that!

Pieces via See You Monday

Last weekend I attended Beautycon and a lovely little brand called See You Monday had a room with all of their items and i happened to snag some. I actually went by twice and got the item in the last photo before leaving. They had a preview of their Fall collection and I am aped to get my hands on some. Which should be easy since they are located here in Los Angeles. Oh and did I mention the pricing is super reasonable? Yeah well that's a thing too. And again with the lyrical title, this time with a little twist. And before you judge... yes I am a Miley Fan despite her transition into her recent behavioral changes. She's a cutie and I don't care. These pants have been a bit of an dilemma for me since I first got them. Which was actually got last summer during a big thrifting obsession. I envisioned wearing something like you see now but had a problem with the size around the waste. After months of putting it off I grabbed a bobby pin and told myself "Today was the day, they go out into the outside world!" What do you think?

Top: Le Boy's Old Baseball T-Shirt - Pants: XXI - Shoes: XXI - Watch: Gifted - Link Bracelet: XXI

This is the result of having your boyfriend's clothes stored drawers away from your own. Taking this as a right of access I threw on an old baseball shirt of his and made it my own. This isn't the first time I've done this (click here for instant nostalgia).

In true Roses are Red fashion a pair of jeans and sneakers wouldn't do. Enter the cargo pants and a pair of heels. Cue an constant need to purchase new items and thats were the baseball cap comes in. To be honest it was a must so the look wasn't all out of whack.

As I have said before I am not a cap/hat person but it is always fun to play around in a field you have never played in before... (I was going for some kind of cool saying or phrase there so please excuse if that didn't translate). Anywho, hats may grow on me so a method to hold down this mane must be created so they can be worn from time to time.
