Today has been an exceptional monday. And by exceptional I mean living up to the standards of a Monday. It started off with me driving to my internship only to find out that we had the day off. I attempted to make up for that by walking around the nearby mall with a fellow intern only to find out/remember that I wouldn't have the validation for the day. An hour later I got home and now I'm just trying to relax for the remainder of the day.
Ya know what? Nothing can cheer you up like novelty items and this cat T-shirt I scored from a Men's section is just that. I'm having fun donning it while trying to look serious.
Also it's day five of the Who What Wear challenge. I totally missed day three and four which were "Go Big" "Go Home & Try a Boyish" – but I figure I do so all the time on this blog so I get a pass, right? With that said today is "Change Out Your Handbag." The bag is by Coach and it's an oldie but never worn. A middle school graduation present that's quite out of style. But disguised as a clutch it adds to the sophistication the pumps brought to such a playful look.
My only question for you all today is... How's your Monday going?

A group photo with fellow bloggers and Social Media lovers
I was invited last week to an preview showing of Tiffany & Co. new line Atlas. The event was hosted by the lovely Aimee Song of Song Style. The night was filled with drinks, interesting appetizers (a glitter covered chocolate ball that left guest all sparkly), great people and of course gorgeous jewelry.
It was wonderful being able to speak with Aimee. She was absolutely sweet which made it so easy to be around. Not to mention her look for the night --- including a Tiffany & Co. Bag that I was drooling over.
I also got to talk to Wes (Aimee's amazing photographer BF) and talked about taking photos for Aimee and getting a little insight on how he goes about it. Aimee's close friend and ex 106 and Park Host Rosci Diaz showed up to support. And let me tell you she was gorgeous in an amazing BCBG number.
BTW that wasn't my first interaction with Aimee. For those of you who don't know a few years back I interviewed her and it turns out she remembered. We chatted for a bit and laughed about answers and pictures from the post from the past. And she even agreed to a follow up interview (SO STAYED TUNED FOR THAT).
Any who, it was a great night and I met some amazing people. Thank you to Tiffany & Co for the invite. I was honored to have been apart of the night... despite the glitter bombs lol.

Hi Ho! Yesterday was filed with running errands. A lot of getting turned around and learning my way around the city I'm currently living in for the moment. There was an attempt to go to a local Goodwill in search of overalls but no suck luck because I couldn't find it. I shall have better luck in the next attempt I'm sure of it. *crosses fingers*
These sandals are something I always doubt because of the length of the heel but they photograph on the foot so well. I think I will bust these babies out through out the summer. The top I actually cut up this morning. I've been doing this think were I take all my once cool t shirts (I went through a graphic graphic tee phase before the whole two size to big tops became a trend) and revamping them so that they are wearable. So I took scissors to them this morning and love the tank I got out it. I think its very nerd/girly cool. And because I have to mix it up the sandals are there to dress it up a bit.

It was one of those weird days where my the weather was gloomy in a middle of a week full of heat. This was a attempt at simple and free flowing. I didnt know before I left that house that it wouldnt matter and might possibly rain. But alas it didn't last long because I sitting her in front a fan editing trying to avoid a heat stroke. Its a great place to live... but LA weather can be tricky and you never get use to it.
This flower crown was a little something I made for a DIY tutorial on my channel. Feel free to got ahead and take a look here. If you try it out let me know.

In my attempts to get back the swing of things I have been doing what I can to keep up with the fashion industry. This included trailing the Fall 2013 collections during NYFW, analyzing them and tweeting my thoughts. This actually got a pretty awesome surprise in the form of fashion designer Charlotte Ronson liking one of my photos on Instagram. Wow that sounded cheesier writing that out that it did in my head.
Any who, to keep this going I thought I'd share with you something I am excited for this upcoming spring... HOLOGRAMS/HOLOGRAPHIC PRINTS!.... okay so I started out want to shout holograms and realized i want to say holographic as well so now that just looks like all caps rather than excitement.
But yes, I've taken a shine (see what I did there?) to this trend and I'm actually in the process of ordering the long maxi in the upper right corner. What do you guys think? Are you all for this trend?

I've had this fur collar for a few days now and I was planning on wearing it out in the most extravagant way. But on this day I saw it laying across an armchair and decided what the heck and through it own with this outfit. And what can I say? I like the way it came out.
This look definitely corresponds with the thought I have been having about my personal style. Everyone always asks "how would you describe your style." And most people respond with "preppy" "rocker" "minimalistic." And I think figured myself out. Its a mix of casual and chic. I love to take dressy pieces and make them fit for everyday like. When this is achieved I feel super fashion forward and very cooool. Are you following me? Hopefully this all makes sense but I am on my way to pin pointing my look. I wanna be known for something, ya know?
Any who I have recovered from my cold and am now nursing from a root canal surgery. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and I'm actually quite mobile. I'm thinking this will be a speedy and painless recovery but we shall see. I guess I could be known as the blogger whose always ill.

I photographed some of the things that I believe will be essential to my day to day sanity in 2013. The first thing being several of the lip products I can't put down at the moment. I can't forget about an accessory that means so much to me (a watch gifted from my lovely boyfriend). Next is a a notebook where I jot down all of my to-do list and ideas for the blog and my beauty channel. I debated buying a new planner and I'm still on the fence but this one is so cute. Tucked inside the notebook is Starbucks gift card which means lots of Passion Fruit Teas and coffeeshop blogging. The juice is a new favorite which I just stocked up on after trying a bottle. This represents my efforts to make healthy choices in the new years. I also plan on using my iPad a lot more for those times when I'm mobile. It fits right in my purse so its perfect! My list of resolutions is hiding there too!
I know everyone says that resolutions are pointless but I have decided to take a different approach this time around. I think making the decision not to make resolution is overrated!! I'm ready for a fresh start and I am all about being inspired and putting that to use. The insanely stylish Karla Deras is currently my screen saver at the moment and it's definitely motivation.
I'm also going to do a little bit of renovating on Roses are Red so don't freight when the layout changes mid browsing. I love you guys and Happy New Years!

I don't think I've been so excited for the fall as I am now. There are so many items I want to break out and have been attempting to whenever the temperature falls her is Los Angeles. Gold, neutrals, sophisticated lips, chunky sweaters, and booties are calling my name and I intend on answering.

That is exactly what this dress makes me think of. That and my favorite tube of red lipstick. I think a little red dress is something every girl needs as well. I don't wear red much so this dress is always catch the eye of those around me because they never see me in it. I can do a nice burgundy or wine color but red, red is rare.
Anywho, this was what I wore today to work and to run errands. It was pretty hot today and I wanted something light and comfy (hence the sneakers). I'm headed to an release party for my campus magazine. As Art Assistant I have to show up early so I'm off to throw on something more glamours on my feet.

Arm Candy!
Hello! As you can see I am trying something new with the size of my photos and I really hope you like. This post was planned for yesterday but the BF came over after work and kept me out of the house all day. But alas here it is and I as I said before I am embracing the bright colors spring/summer demands. And its pretty fun to take a break from my black wardrobe pieces.
This skirt is something bought a year or so ago and now I am falling in love love with it again. The color picks me right up and the length is super flirty. To balance the look from being so girly I un-tucked my shirt a bit. Its still my favorite style tweak.

Hey guys! I am so sorry I have been neglecting this blog but I have just been attending school with blinders on trying to get to summer. And then this past weekend I sprained my ankle; so you know that had me down for the majority of the week. I had promised a Weekly Wednesday last week and I am pretty sure it is 12 am Friday as I am about to post this. But hey I am getting a post done and that is all that counts.
