So the last post I hinted to the fact I purchased some of the items in the collage. Well these beauties arrived this past week and I am in LOVE. I really wanted a pair of mules and almost purchased a black pair. But in the end it sounded best to get something outside of black - seeing as I own every type of shoe in that color. I also figured white is perfection for the spring time. Plus, how badass is the gold tip on the open toe?

Shoes: Sheik

I have been eye the taller version of the strappy black shoes I already owned. And I debated purchasing a pair so close to the fall season. But an interview emergency gave me the excuse to scoop these puppies up. The thick ankle strap and line foot strap is just what I was looking for as there are a ton of version of black and strappy. Be prepared for post revolving around my new loves!

I think I've love Henna, A friend of a friend offered to do some on everyone the other night and I joined in. This is actually a replica of Rihanna's Tribal Dragon tattoo.

I have been waiting to wear this skirt out for weeks now. I ordered it online around the time of my hologram trend prediction post. Its a pretty bold piece but I couldn't help but take on that challenge after falling in love with the dramatic slit (another trend I am loving). Plus this skirt is something unlike anything I have in my closet.

My goal for this year style-wise is to work with the niche i've finally figured out. I like mixing sophisticated/dressy items with casual/comfy/boyish pieces. It took me about 4 years of blogging to figure it out and weed through trying to emulate other bloggers to come to this conclusion. And I like it! Oh I am also working on finding a balance between scowling and laughing in photos. If you have been around Roses are Red for a while you would have noticed its always one or the other. Extreme right?! Well I seem to have gotten it together and embraced the smirk you see in these photos. I like it and it definitely makes editing photos much more pleasant.

Anywho, back to the outfit. I love skirt and the holographic effect. I decided to style it with a simple tank. I wanted to work with my new claimed aesthetic so I added these Timberland boots. Purchasing these boots weren't my idea at all. I actually disliked the fact that these shoes were becoming popular among women. But after trying them on in this color I walked out the store with them. Also if you know my blog you can guess who was responsible for this purchase. Yes, Le Boy. I admitted to him the other day that I'm glad he convinced me to get them because I wear them 4 out of 7 days of the week.

So today was actually wash day (actually it should have been but I've been procrastinating). I used a wash room in my building as my location due to a pesky setting sun. I was reminded that one of my first outfit posts were taken in a wash room. I've gotten more creative since then so this ended up being fun and the light creating nice shadows. You are welcome go back to 08' archives and look for those photos but spare me the embarrassment if you can.

Also these shoes are new (new for the blog but they have seen life for the past month). Do you like? I have them in a tan color as well. They are so comfortable, I feel like I'm walking on stilts whenever I put them on.

I'm loving these pointy shoes. I ordered them off of Urban Outfitters online and could not wait for them to come. I even startled the UPS guy by opening the door before he knocked. They have a great look with a chunky heel. I get the sleek look without the hassle of a stilleto!

Hey guys, I am currently getting ready for Fashion's Night Out. I hope that you guys will be attending as well. I am so excited that I am getting a chance to attend, as the past two years have been axed after school related time confliction.

Before I continued getting ready I thought I would give you guys a sneak peek of what I'll be wearing. At this point nothing is set in stone so I have narrow down to these three. If you spy someone at the Beverly Center in any of these outfits you know its me.

Blazer: H&M - Top: F21 - Shorts: Thrifted Levi DIY Cut up - Shoes: Zara - Necklace& Bracelets: F21- Watch: Target

The temperature was at a nice high and i decided to take the opportunity to go ahead and through on some shorts and my new Zara sandals. The blazer was a fun way to dress the look up (until i got to walking around campus and the sun hit my back).

I'm currently sitting in my Journalism 300 class so I'm off to begin paying attention to the list of assignments my professor just put on the board. And after this class is over I'm headed home for a movie night with the boy ^_^.

Wearing two of my most cherished of recent finds. This cool skirt that has a 50s style cute and waist and these simple black heels that resemble the current popular pair sold at Zara. This skirt is so fun but can be a piece of work to walk in. I had to be tedious about my movement while i walked across campus today. Its so worth it though!

Hope you guys had a Happy Easter! Yesterday was fun for me because I got to spend time with a side of my family that is always immersed in interesting conversation. So yesterday was void of awkward pauses. I even enjoyed reminiding everyone who inquired what I'm studying in school, why, and how my classes were. A rare gathering which reminded that this is where I try venturing out to visit more often than I do.
