I'm in this weird place of being inspired and being intimidated by those same inspirations. I've promised myself to make 2015 unlike any other. To go further with my blog and find creative ways when it comes to all of my online content. I have a project coming up next month that I seem to go about in a roller coaster motion. One day I'm excited and ideas are spewing out left and right. Other days I'm buried in doubt and find the idea idiotic.

My astrological sign is Gemini. This means I am the epitome of back and forth. I never know what I want even though I just spent the past hour talking about it. I'm the person who goes to their favorite restaurant, knows they only order one thing but still glances over with menu in terror. Which is why this project and it's success is currently haunting.

I don't believe it's a lack of self confidence. It's the outcome that waves over me that makes it hard for me to make a decision without looking over my options again. the fact that a idea seems great but can fall flat is wild!

But ya know who knows what is going to happen. And as cheesy as it sounds, you'll never know unless you try. So I gotta just suck it up and wait for February to come.

P.S. I started collection animal ears. This mickey pair that I got at a Nylon part last Fall are my current favorite. I love ears so much I even wear them when I'm in bed on the weekends just because.

Top: Boohoo - Jeans: H&M - Bag: Saint Laurent

I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. This bag is definitely beyond me in time. It's structured and nicely detailed. I'm a bit messy and sporadically cut corners when it comes to elements of my look. It makes me feel like a grown up. And while I've been and I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T woman for longest without a bag like this it's kind of been pointless. At times I can't handle the seriousness of it and op for the long straps and turn it into a side bag.

I tend to wear this bag to lunch dates or days like this one where I'm doing blogger business. This day in particular I was headed to a Daily Look styling suit to pick out a look for an event later that night. It was hot so I mixed it up with some more casual pieces so I didn't have to take myself serious.

Don't worry one day I'll grown up... I hope.

Maya Brenner Asymmetrical Mini Letter Necklace - Hanes Sweater - Thrifted Jacket - XXI Boots (Available in Grey)- LB Boutique Bag

So apparently I'm a mailman. I only say this because I was out shooting this outfit after running some errands and it was raining 60% of the time. I handled it like a champ. If this were a challenge on ANTM (shame on you if didn't automatically decode that acronym), Tyra would be proud.

Granted it was only drizzling — and I can't speak for sleet since it doesn't rain here in SoCal — but it all makes me feel pretty bossy.

This "V" necklace has been a favorite of mine this month. Not sure if that's because of the delicacy of the piece or the vanity that comes with of wearing my own initial. I've always been the girl to wear my significant other's initials or a mixture of the two (You can add multiple letters to the necklace btw). So when Maya Brenner contacted me to pick a piece from her signature Maya Brenner design I decided to make this one all about me. One of the things I love is that I can layer it with some of my longer necklace as well as shorter ones because the asymmetrical design makes it so pendants don't clash. I can say I made the right choice because I barely take it off. Fun fact: If you wan't a personalized necklace of your own but don't want to wait you can pick one up at any J. Crew.

I'm currently working on a project for the upcoming month for this blog so my post for January may be a bit sparse. I apologize. You know because everyone is so desperately checking their feeds for R.A.R updates. I kid. I kid. If my dollop of sarcasm has escaped any readers so far I'm sorry. This may explain some of the humor in my past post.

Any who, expect something different for the month of February. *insert winky face emoji*

Poncho: XXI

Do any of you know how deliriously fun and absolutely embarrassing it is to have several people see you twirl around in front of a camera? No? Well it's actually no that bad.

I had way too much fun in this shooting this poncho. It was sitting in my closet occupying space because I never wanted to deal with the all day upkeep that comes with donning one (wieght, slippage, etc). I got over though because I was too fascinated by the fact that I felt cool throwing it over my face and pretending I was in that first Abu Dhabi scene from Sex and City II.

Also the photos are now bigger. How do we like? I think bigger = epic.

And I like epic.

I wish I could say I had this epic hangover and I'm just really getting up and out of bed a few days into the new year. Thats not the case. But this basically a summary of my morning after. Straight to my phone and in search of warm liquids.

There was more foreshadowing than reflected. A fresh start is much needed. I've even taken the it upon to change my Twitter and Instagram handles. I can now be found at @_violetbanks. Which means I had to get new business cards which I'm waiting by the mail for!

I'm just so excited about the upcoming year and all the plans I have written down on paper. And with my first real post of the year I want to say thank you for reading and thank you for staying. Let's get the year started.
