I couldn't help but use the cheesiest line there is to describe the new year. All jokes aside, I'm excited for 2016. I've accomplished so many of my goals this year but honestly it was all just a bit of a trial run. I took content creating a lot more seriously and putting myself out there. I put just about every idea I had for a shoot/video and made it real. I meet so many new people, brands, and made amazing new friends in the process.

One of my biggest accomplishments this year was traveling. If you follow any of my social media you would know that I traveled to New York in October for a Generation Beauty (a vlogger/blogger conference). The trip was initially impossible but I put trust in myself and made it there with the support of those around me. Stepping foot on the other side of the country for the first time in my life was an amazing experience. As a West Coast girl through and through I was surprised at how much I loved it.

If 2016 is thing like 2015 I know it's going to be amazing. I just can't wait to take all the inspiration and confidence this year has provided and triple that!

I've never taken official Christmas photos or sent out Christmas cards. And as I was wrapping gifts last night — Horribly by the way. I am the worst gift wrapper ever —  I thought "Why the hell don't I take my own?!" So I hopped into my Christmas leggings, plopped on some reindeer ears and put on a little CC cream, some eyeliner and a red lip and took some festive photos.

I'm not sure if I'll send them out as an e-card or anything but I wanted to post them on the blog to say... HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

We all know I'm tip toeing back into the blogging world. I'm not forcing myself to post. I'm simply letting concepts and ideas come organically. But there's always one person who can get my blogger wheels turning, Amber Kaz (aka Liberity Denied/My Eyes are Hungry). When I stopped posting i was living variously through her.

 Amber has this dark yet calm style and aesthetic that compliments mine so well. And I mean it because when we met up in outfits that were so in sync and it was not intentional. We both knew the other was wearing black but that's about it. We agreed this spot was perfect and took out our cameras to get snapping.

It's great to have friends who think the same and give off a great vibe. It's always a good time when Amblet (a lame duo name we made up a long time ago) is around.

I wanted to share the beauty that is the Becca Holiday Champagne Glow Palette. If you're involved in any bit of the beauty world (be YouTube, Blogs, or Instagram) you have heard about this bad boy. And although the entire interwebs has debuted the palette, I wanted to show some up closes, share swatches and give my thoughts on it!

The trio features Pearl, Champagne Pop (c/o of the creative mind of Jaclyn Hill), and Blushed Copper.

 Pearl, one of Becca's permanent liquid highlighters, is a solid shimmering white shade. And while it may be intimidating for someone of my skin tone or darker, it's not. The trick is to apply this color sparingly. Use a fluffy brush and a light hand it's sure to give a subtle shine.

Champagne Pop, the infamous limited edition shade, is describe as a "soft white gold with pinky peach undertone." I think the mixture of gold and the delicate undertones makes it a great fit for all skin tones.

And last but not least, Blushed Copper. This warm copper with rose gold tones made it's debut via this palette and has yet to be announce as permanent or LE. Either way this color is different... in a good way. From what I have seen it's the perfect bronzer/contour on fair skin. Personally I find it to be a great bronzer/highlight myself.

Overall the palette is definitely worth it. You're getting three shades for less than the price of one Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector (which I own and love as well). Also, the highlighters are meant to double as shadows (bonus). So if you are thinking about snagging one of these babies before they're all gone, Go for it. And I mean come on... it's so pretty to look at, how could you resist?!

Wearing: Shoes: Lola Shoetique

I'm slowing allowing grey to absorb my love for black. It's has the monochrome feel but much less aggressive. I always feel like I'm giving off Kelly Cutrone vibes when I'm in all black. That's not a bad thing but to those who enjoy a bit more color in their life it can be a bit offensive and I think grey (and the many shades it comes in) is a nice compromise. Plus it looks really good against my skin. 

I've been loving simple pieces like this tube dress. Kim K. has definitely known something we haven't for the long time because this dress comfy yet it hugs the body just right. Let's just say I've caught in and I'll be picking up more of these. Judge me if you must!

These are the photos that started it all. While out shooting these (originally taken to have one or two fun style posts for Instagram) I mentioned how fun this use to be before the internal pressure. But I hadn't yet gotten the urge to start blogging again. I was just nostalgic.
