So after being a big fan of the Papercut Chronicles I for some years now I decided to pickup part II. So far so good. The radio has got me singing Stereo Hearts and Ass Back Home (If I could sing as good as the girl vocal *Neon Hitch* I would definitely sing this to the boy).

Not a big text of post today because my new camera arrived today. I'm so giddy about honestly and it has made my day after a rough start of the week. Car troubles suck is is all i can say.... and because I am blessed with a wonderful BF he made sure to stick by for the past few days to keep my spirits up.

So for the sake of this blog and my interest in taking photos I purchased this...
If you see the first order is my investment in a Canon DSLR. I am so excited and intimidate at the same time. But I know this is something I have wanted for so long and if I put it off any longer I wont do it down the line.


Anyone get this nervous buying their cameras? What camera do you use and what was it like getting familiar with it?

I headed back down to Huntington Beach earlier this week for some fresh air. This time I stayed toward the shops and avoided the beach. Did you know there is a bar on the second floor of the shopping area that has a 'Taco Thursday?' Well they do and my roomy and I took advantage of that. I got full off of 4! My filling trick? Lots of cheese (and i mean A LOT) and a squeeze or two of lime.

I have decided to try adding a segment to Roses are Red with 'Weekly Wednesday.' Since Wednesday is the middle of the week I should have found something to obsess over by then. Whether it be a song, a trend, or item it will be posted here on Wednesdays. I have hesitated implementing a regular post schedule for a while but i think this is a great start. So from this point on you guys will always have a post to look forward to between outfit post.

The first Weekly Wednesday is all about my camera choice for the new year. As you all may know i have been contemplating  upgrading to an DSLR for the sake of the photos for this blog. And after some thinking, online browsing, in-store inquires, and more thinking I have made a choice. Is is wise? Well I will let you guys answer that in comments.

I have chosen to go with another digital camera... the 'Canon Powershot G12.'

I know, I know I was raving about purchasing a DSLR but I have decided on this for multiple reasons. 1. I love the cool look of this camera (looks like something cool I can take on the many adventures I plan on taking this year). 2. I just couldn't commit to the size because I am can see the bulkiness holding me back and me reverting back to my current digital camera. 3. I couldn't live with myself paying the price for the DLSRs I have been looking at (my goal is to save this year). 4. I don't even believe I would have the patients to learn the ins and out of a professional camera + I'm not a photographer. (My cousin is a photographer and he owns a Nikon DSLR and I have used it and it is intense lol)

So I was going through this month's magazines and some things that caught my eye. So I decided put together a board of trends I see coming this year that I love. I'll be sure to integrate these into my wardrobe.


1. Velvet: this gem of a fabric I see coming alive in 2012 in different forms. From hair accessories to shoes.
2. White blouses: while these never go out of style I see these babies coming in different shapes and sizes.
3. Inkblot: this print is a new take on prints and allows the piece to do the work and requires little accessories.
4. Army/Military: cargo and camouflage is becoming a big trend and is a great way to toughin up feminine looks or just make you feel cool. (the new leather?).
5. Asymmetrical/Diagonal: Straight lines becoming boring and these cuts weather whimsical or edgy will show up every where.
6. Ankle Boots: I know these are have been popular already and that's because the work well with jeans of every cut and even girl looks (try with a whimsical asymmetrical skirt).
7. Rhinestone Accessories: rhinestones of many different color adds some fun to any type of look.
8. Sports Wear: dressing up sports wear will be a go to look; think shorts under and un-tucked patterned top and a pair of strappy heels
9. Dalmatian: dalmatian is the new Leopard? need i say more?

Did i miss any? What are some trends you see coming to light this year?

So after a few weeks of lazying around after a hectic Fall semester I finally got out into the world for things other than food and family related holidays. I know it sounds sad but after 3 months of being dedicated to school the laziness is well deserved.  I even put in effort to dress like I wanted to be scene .

Allison and I headed out to Huntington Beach to browse shops and do some reading in the sand. It was lovely and I thought it would even be a cool place to take some photos. And because of my tiny compact camera i decided it look weird posing around those bustling by. BUT! and there is always a but... we ended up finding a cut little alley like area in between some restaurants. Perhaps I am not ready to begin posing in public again just yet. Mind You I still have 4 more weeks left on this break so I should experience the outside world and great outfits.

Just wanted to say Happy New Years to you guys! I hope your night was wonderful and the countdown was spent with the ones you loved. And for those who drank were able to successfully nurse their hangover. My night was nothing big but loads of fun spent with friends.
